RESIN BOND PRODUCTS
Resin bond products are manufactured with phenolic resin that can be molded into many styles and shapes for a wide range of products. This bond system is softer than metal bond and free cutting. Resin bond can be used for wet or dry grinding of carbide with diamond or high-speed steel with CBN.
PLATED PRODUCTS
Plated products are usually a single layer of diamonds or CBN highly concentrated and held on by a tough, durable nickel alloy. This high concentration usually about 145-150, enables plated products to retain their original shape and dimensions throughout their working life. Unlike metal or resin bond impregnated products where the diamond particles are buried in the bond, the plated product allows the diamond particles to protrude from the surface, giving a freer faster cutting action with minimum heat generation.
METAL BOND PRODUCTS
Metal Bonds are manufactured with powdered metal sintered with diamond or CBN and the impregnated bond is very strong. Metal bond will hold its shape and distribute heat very well. This bond is primarily used for wet grinding. Metal bond tools can be used in various applications from glass and ceramics to carbide and metalworking.
